Our Coaches
Coach William "Rhett" Sandoval
has been training in martial arts for over 40 years. He has earned numerous Black Belts and has competed in state and national tournaments in forms, weapons, sparring and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In 2000, William joined the Army as an artilleryman and served as a Light Infantryman with the 1st Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom; earning his Combat Action Badge (CAB). He received an Honorable Discharge in 2006 and graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. from the University of Hartford in Health Science in 2010. When not training, he enjoys playing video games, board games and watching anime with his four children. Coach Steve Meyer
has been training in martial arts for close to a decade. He is a brown belt under Rhett Sandoval and has competed in numerous state Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitions. In 2023, Steve was the AZBJJF 2022-2023 Season top ranked Purple Belt in the Master 3 Division. He has taught and coached for Patriot Martial Arts Queen Creek for half a decade, helping to create State Champions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. When he isn't training or coaching, he enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his two daughters.
